[P]hiladelphia smoothie shop Fuel recently launched the “dream collection,” a line of CBD-infused smoothies. The dream collection features three flavors—Green Dream with kale, ginger, pineapple, spinach, and honey; Berry Dream, strawberry, mango, apple, and banana; and Orange Dream, orange juice, banana, vanilla, and non-fat yogurt—which customers can then choose to add 0.5ml of CBD oil to for an additional $2.95.

While the company makes no health claims, CBD, or cannabidiol, is an active component in marijuana that is thought to reduce inflammation, depression, and anxiety—without the psychoactive effects of THC. A report published by New Frontier Data found that the U.S. CBD industry grew by 40% in 2017, and predicts that the market is primed for expansive growth. While still illegal federally, CBD has been legalized on some level in all 50 states with different conditions as to how the substance is manufactured.
