The Barista League has made the decision to cancel all remaining physical events for the year. Instead, it’s bringing a new season of its online competition and coffee reality TV series back this winter—with more episodes, rounds and surprise guests. Applications are now open until Sunday, August 23, and the winner will win a trip to Brazil.

The Barista League Online will involve less competitors, more competition rounds, and many surprise mentors, judges, and guest appearances.

“We’re super stoked to be back with a new season, and not only that—our new sponsors are making it possible for us to step up the production value this time around,” says Steven Moloney, founder of The Barista League.

It remains free to participate in the competition and each competitor will get a competition pack with goodies from Acaia, Baratza, Barista Magazine, Biocaf, Cafe Imports, Hugo Tea, Pacific Foods Barista Series, Rancilio, and Slow Pour Supply. Applications open August 10 and stay open until August 23; baristas worldwide can apply here.

Each competitor will be paired with a special mentor for the duration of the season and be in the running for an amazing major prize: an all-inclusive trip to Daterra Coffee Farm in Brazil with the rest of the world champions as part of Daterra’s Barista Experience.

This season will air between November 2020 and January 2021, feature 10 episodes, and be hosted on IGTV, Facebook, and YouTube.
