[F]ollowing the philosophy that life is all about balance, business owners in Topeka, Kansas, are celebrating their grand opening of the city’s first coffee/juice/ice cream bar. Locals can now get their fill of fresh juices, coffee, ice cream, pastries, and more at The Tipsy Carrot, which opened on July 10.

The new shop in the NOTO Arts and Entertainment District is the venture of two finalists in the city’s Top Tank competition, which awards start-up money to local entrepreneurs. Heather DiDomenico Graves and Pedro Concepcion initially pitched a juicery to Top Tank, while Allison Shove-Chard and Jeremy Chard proposed an ice cream shop. The finalists then decided to merge their concepts into one business.

They have also partnered with other local purveyors to sell kombucha from Morning Light Kombucha, empanadas and pastries from Le Petit Bon Bon, and coffee and espresso from Blue Jazz Java. In addition to their coffee menu, The Tipsy Carrot will offer a coffee affogato and create a signature Blue Jazz coffee ice cream flavor.

Bringing clean eats and indulgent sweets together under one roof, The Tipsy Carrot has found its footing in their community. As DiDomenico Graves told local news station KSNT, “It’s about tipping the scales of eating healthy and treating yourself.”
