[P]roject Café USA 2019,” based on research gathered from all 50 states, is a new study from Allegra World Coffee Portal that aims to equip industry stakeholders with a deep understanding of the reported $45.4 billion U.S. coffee shop market.

The study includes more than 60 interviews with industry leaders; an in-depth analysis of consumer preferences, consumption patterns, and brand awareness; a look into the impact of artisan and specialty coffee; and coverage of “5th wave concepts.”

Starbucks, Dunkin’, and Tim Hortons operate a vast majority of coffee shop locations in the U.S. Combined, the three brands operate 22,763 of the 34,674 total locations throughout the nation. The study also found that the market grew 3.6% over the last year.
